I will check it out. Bob will LWC work with VT5 when we get it? If so then I will probably be ordering it soon after getting VT5.

I actually have heard nothing about VT5/Editor/SDK.
The editor, from conversations is supposed to be based on SE but I
am not totally sure about that. Not even sure who you could ask.

Yeah, the hurdels NT has had to overcome, between PC's/Formats/Camera's/Outputs, well I understand everyones feeling about VT5. IMHO, once the SE team is ready, soon I hope, and SE1.x arrives, VT5 will get going. It really is a challenge if you think of all the variables, not just your own system and needs, NT products just rock, and VT5 is not only getting an SE merge, but the Vsets and VFXcamera make over. Yes I need BobFX last week, hope to have it in a couple of weeks, but will also be looking at some custom build HP/Dell that is going to help rock VT5 for the next few years. Unless a VTMAC happens! In addition to the database of free DVEs at vtknowledge.com, and of course Bob's filters, DVE sets are commercially available from corin.com/wipes and discreetfx.com.

It's hard to believe that NewTek has not given you access to the latest info you need to produce plug-ins that would work with VT5. After all you are the only guy making these and it would be in teir best interest to keep you up to date.

How about a reply from NewTek on why Bob isn't getting the info he needs to make sure his plug-ins work with VT5.

I am not at all surprised that NewTek hasn't released an SDK for a product that they haven't finished creating.

You're worried about VT[5]? That's way out there, I"m worried about SpeedEDIT 1.x... Remember, Newtek has stated VT[5] isn't coming till AFTER TriCaster Studio.

I'm just hoping Bob gets an SDK to make his plug-ins work with SpeedEDIT 1.x...

Of course, SE 1.x is not finished being created yet, either... So maybe the same lack of an SDK applies?

I've always had the impression that most companies give third-party developers SDKs BEFORE they release their latest products, AFAIK.

Cause man, it certainly is gonna be bad if a Bob can't update his plug-ins for when the next version of SpeedEDIT comes out... A lot of us rely on Bob's plug-ins to make SpeedEDIT a useable solution for our needs.

    I do.

    Hi guys,
I noticed you mentioned LWConnect and DVE's

In case you didnt see me post this else where.
There are over 170 scenes in LWConnect.
Many are 2 input DVE types.

    http://www.bobfx.com/SETutorials/Bob...LWConnect.html
http://www.bobfx.com/DemoReel.wmv and you can watch an overview of
    all the plugins.

Near the end of the demo reel is LWConnect examples.

Bob the 2 input DVEs shown in the demo are great! I do editing for event guys and they love those kinds of effects although personally I think they are over used, but hey they pay me so I put as many as I can in.

Maybe you can put out an expansion pack with lots more 2 input DVEs.

I will be ordering LWC at the end of the summer.

    Thanks Rich,

I hope when I get 9.2 I can make some more DVE's as well.
LWC is one of the best plugins I wrote. Its a great marriage tween
3D and video kept organized on the timeline.

Of course there are many more DVE's and multiple input
    effects.

How many scenes do you have with particles, hypervoxel flames and ray traced reflections? We have tons that render in a few minutes but we also have some higher quality stuff that takes longer.

Watch the last clip in that sample reel. If you can render that in a few minutes, you are my new best friend.

I'm going to get myself a copy of LWConnect next payday, but I've been looking around for other effects as well. I followed the aforementioned link...

    http://www.vtknowledge.com/index.php...ources&id=DVEs

for some free dves, downloaded them, and tried them in SpeedEdit, but I've yet to get one to actually work. I can select the effect (the icon / thumbnail in the filebin is correcly show ) and drag it onto the timeline etc, and it does look like it does the background render ok, but when I run the video, the effect is not visible.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Iain

Try Storyboard to insert DVE's. Sounds like the DVE is in a top layer on the timeline. I've not found any bad ones, won't play, and have downloaded from VTknowledge also.

It is just easier to insert DVE's in Storyboard
