Holy Cow that is Amazing! LW 9 has so many new possibilities and we are just scratching the surface. With so more time I am sure that this will become a tried and trued technique for LW 9. There is so many new things to learn and master in LW 9, this is really fun!

Proton, excellent videos! I especially liked the hair/fur demonstration. VERY promising. I nearly soiled myself watching it.

As soon as I read the part about using a morph map like that, It made instant sense. I don't know why I didn't think of that.

This looks like a really good alternative to some solutions that more or less required Sas before. Excellent demos, Proton!

    It's 14 minutes long

It has teh same compression as the others that are nice and small but I got carried away with details and it got long....but well worth the download IMHO

It'll be interesting to see how far this can be taken toward the full functionality of sasquatch - or even beyond it in some areas.
Could you make this with it yet?

Just coming out of lurking to say a quick thank you for this and all the demo videos, had it not been for the videos the node editor would still be a huge mystery to me. This one was well worth the wait, makes me want to model something furry just to experiment some more with it

I wonder if there would be a way of linking an object to the displacment channel? If so this would be great for instancing objects.

cuz I can....here is an animation test with Jack
Small Compressed Full walk and run:

    Jack Walkrun

    339kb

    Walking loop very little compression:

    Jack Walk Loop

    5mb

I still want to tweak it but "I" feel this is production ready and I'm already in the process of using it on my new toy commercial for Play along Toys
