    AA vs. Quality Settings?

Question for those that use LW for a living.

    Which is better and why?

For instance, if you are rendering a scene with area lights, is it better to use lower quality shadows with more AA passes or visa versa.

My thoughts are that with a higher quality setting, the render times go up, but it takes fewer passes to get rid of quality anomolies. So I would think you would just use AA to smooth edges sufficiently and set the quality settings to get the quality you want at those AA settings.

How do you pros do this balancing act?

    Life's a journey, not a destination.

It's easier to get rid of noise in post, than it is to get rid of aliasing on edges. I generally reduce the area light quality to 2 or so.
    Are my spline guides showing?
