    UV Help

I'm trying to get an image to sit on the top of a can, and then wrap over and down the side.

Can anyone help with the UV maps?

Do I need to set up two UV maps - one for the top and one for the side and then pull points to match it up, or can I get away with using one?

    Cheers

    Dave

You can use one. Either unweld the seam points to move them around (7.5 and earlier) or use the Free move mode in LW 8 to move the points to match.
Push the software, don't let it push YOU!

In this case you can have only one UV map, there's absolutely no need for two imho

Thanks for the help guys. My brain was turning to mush trying all of the UV options. Now I'll stick with a planar UV along the Y axis.

    Thanks again

This one is simple enough for me to do - Create a UV map, Planar type, on the y axis. In the modeler viewport, select all the points on the bottom of the can. In the uv texture window, scale those points up so they spread out from the rest of the object. Apply your texture in the uv viewport as well as the modeling viewport so you can see how much to scale up.
