I am wondering if one of you LScripter's could write a routine for a procedure I illustrated as an answer to a problem over at Spinquad. Here's the link:

Seems it shouldn't be too hard...of course I don't know my butt from page twelve about writing scripts so I could be wrong. Anyways it would be nice to be able to increase the number of blocks to make the sphere smoother on the edges. What do you think...someone want to try it?

    Thanks much,
    Ron

I had a little go at a Lscript/macro that does what you want (i think)

Run a compiled version, as it is extremely slow on medium to high polycounts.

What happened to the development of this thread? Is someone working on all these requests? I've not heard a peep since this thread was posted.

You can disable and enable plugins in lscript. See this for an example:
    http://www.dodgy.ghostoutpost.com/Ls...onMixerControl

You can also do mouse interaction as well.

I'm putting the latest release notes in a doc on my web page.

You have no idea often i use your page as opposed to the incredible garbage pile that NT calls a Lscript manual.

Nice work Dodgy, thank you for the time and effort.

Tutorials, Documentation. I would love to play with LScript but it is too alien. I have nowhere to start. If there's a good set of "beginner" starting tutorials out there, please advise! (And documentation so one can grow into the direction they want.)
    Thank you!

You can download the reference PDF files from the NT developer site (http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/developers/), and opening simple lscript files and modifieing them to your needs teaches you alot.

Some people have complained about the lscript documentation. Lscript was the first programming language I learned and I found the resources quite sufficient - LScript User Manual and Reference Manual, old release notes, other peoples lscript files, a copy of the the lscript mailing list archive; Read the first, use the rest when your coding. - The only thing you need beyond that is the will, the need and an idea for a script. It is perhaps the most important even as it is what would make out the biggest part of the drive to learn.

I think I will take a shot at it and see what happens. I've been wanting to try it out, so now that I've gone and opened my big mouth I guess I'll have to give it a go.

I have a bunch of Lscripts that are fully documented if you want them.
