A solid procedure for texture mapping??

Can anyone explain to me or point me towards a tutorial that explains a solid method for texturing characters?
I'm still new to Lightwave and it method for texturing. My experience with texturing (although not great) comes from using 3dsmax. Does LW have comparable texturing tools?
I'm sure it does, but I'm really struggling with LWs textring tools.

Well, first of all this is a great place to start:

Secondly, if you're new to Lightwave, I can tell you the best resource I had in learning Lightwave was Dan Ablan. His Inside Lightwave books as well as his desktop video series. Lots of good stuff in there about texturing.

Do you have specific questions? What exactly are you trying to texture and perhaps you can get some tips from other users here in the forums.

    Welcome to the community.
