    What's it for?

    Why not just add a displacement map in Layout, then freeze the object (saving it out in its deformed state)?

    I don't think that is possible is it Beam? How would you freeze it in layout?

    I just don't see the point. You can do all that already.
    I still say a church steeple with a lightning rod on top shows a lack of confidence

    The point is it is interactive in modeler and it is
    cheap. I bought it and love it. You can interactively change
    the bump type use weight maps uvs and subdivide
    polys to get the look you are after in modeler. I agree
    it can be done in layout but its not nearly as easy
    and that's what most plugins are a easy way to
    accomplish something already available. The freeze
    method will take twice as long and you don't have
    near the control. For thirty U.S. it fits my budget and needs.
