FreeD / Free-d tracking protocol over NDI.

Some Sony and Panasonic PTZ's, as well as others can make use of the FreeD protocol to send tracking data to a virtual set. Does NDI carry this data signal over these NDI enabled models?

As I'm aware, FreeD is it's own protocol that can run alongside NDI. Having one, doesn't mean you can't have the other.

Thanks both. Any plans to add an encapsulation or additional line to NDI in the future, so that various protocols can be send down the same wire?

We have a policy of not discussing development plans, but you might want to make this an NDI feature request using Fogbugz. Although the post below describes bug reports related to TriCaster, I think you can submit feature requests via the same portal.
