Studio Monitor recordings - Blank playback on windows

    Hi!

I just did a fresh install of NDI and the NDI Codecs.

When I record from Studio Monitor, the playback is blank. I tried VLC and importing it into Davinci Resolve.

In VLC, The Codec is SpeedHQ and I have installed those from the Codec pack. I did reboot my computer.

What should I do in order to use the recordings? Should I convert them? Do I have something missing on my computer?

    Thanks a lot!

Perhaps your problem with the missing record is related to a system error? Writing and transcoding are somehow broken in recent builds. Try using an older version of VLC.

    Hi.

Unfortunately, with an old version, it does not find the codec.

    Here's what I did:
    Ouput OBS to NDI
    Open Studio Monitor
Set the OBS NDI as source.
I can view the source in the Studio Monitor window
    Click on record.
    Wait 10 seconds.
Click on record to stop recording.
Open the MOV file into VLC. Blank playback.
Open the MOV file into Films & TV in Windows: I got "This item was encoded in a format that's not supported 0x00d5212"

    Any other suggestions?

What version of VLC? Needs to be version 3.x or higher for SpeedHQ playback. VLC doesn't support external codecs, all codec support is built in.

Resolve doesn't support the SpeedHQ codec last time I tried, you will need to convert into ProRes or some other format.

    Hi!

    Thanks for your help.

I use the last version of VLC. I have to apologize, because when I record via Studio Monitor an OBS feed, it play back correctly with VLC.

The problem occurs with my iPhone using the NDI HX Capture app.

I can see my iPhone display in Studio Monitor, but then the playback is black/blank in VLC.

I tried the NDI HX Camera app and the recording playback is working in VLC.

And what do you suggest to convert the MOV to another format/codec?

    Thanks
