850 control surface with Mini HD-4i

Can I use an 850CS with my Mini HD-4i? If not how about an 8000CS? I have access to borrow either one, but not the funds right now to purchase.

You don't mention the version of software on the Mini. If it is current (AE3/Rev 7-x) software, then yes either the 850CS or 8000CS will work. If the Mini is running earlier versions software, I would expect that the 850CS will work (not sure about the 8000CS).

I am running the latest AE2. I had the 850CS running for the past 4 months and then it started freezing. I checked with tech support and they said that the 850CS will not work with my Mini. 5-1-191224C

The 850CS wasn't something that we would of expected to connect to a Mini system. If you have unit to test you can see what happens. The chart I have is for AE3 systems, which does list that control surface will work, but support was probably added in that version.
