Exclamation LW Modeler 2020.0.2 Rail Extrude Crashes Modeler hard

If I try to do a simple Rail Extrude in Modeler, after hitting Enter on the Numeric Panel to extrude, it crashes hard exiting the app.

Anyone else experiencing this? i submitted a bug report.Click image for larger version.

Does LWCAD have a different Rail extruder that is better (and non crashy)? I have it but don't use it too much so don't know all it's features.... Or is there another option? I mean Unity has lots of realtime rail extrudes, shouldn't lightwave have that too by now? Thx for any tips!

I just tried this, and it worked, no crash. What options had you selected for the rail extrude?

Try offsetting your shape-to-extrude a bit.

Also make sure that your path has no duplicated points.
Length between two points sharing the same coordinate will be 0,
so if there is no check whether length is not null,
there might be division by zero exception happening.

hhmmm, when i look at the image, it seems when extruding, the polygons would overlap in the curve inside, maybe this causes the crash.

Probably not, just made one with sharp corners, it happily overlapped the sections and kept going.

Unable to repro here either, using default settings with poly in fg and curve in bg, it worked fine here (LW2020.0.2UB64 on OSX10.13.6).

Best to upload pre-extrude object with proper layer contents as was right before activating rail extrude.

If you can get hold of it, and if it still works with 2020 (works in 2019 64 bit)
Px bezier is a nice tool to extrude/extend with, from faces.

It may be up somewhere even though his site is down.
otherwise a free excellent tool to use, and you can save out paths as presets.cfg,
though it is only available to use for within the plugin itself, you canīt draw a native lightwave spline and reload as a path for extending or extruding, you have to draw any such curve
    path within the plugin.

So, I tried it here and the first time I did it, Modeler crashed hard.

I reloaded and tried again and every single time since that first crash, it works flawlessly.
