    Which is unlikely to happen, given that there is a lot of licensed commercial code from other sources, plus there are quite a few patents tossed in there as well.

    Also, some of those parties relationship with Newtek has become rather... adversarial/antagonistic/some word that describes being pissed-off? Granted, I've only seen anecdotal evidence of this, but...

    Yeah, Lightwave going open source is less likely to happen than me winning the lottery.

    Responding and answering support tickets is great, but almost useless unless you have a programmer to code the fixes that 2020.0.2 needs.

    Exactly, if no one can fix and more importantly push out an update then it's pretty useless.

    We have integrated LW3D into Vizrt...
    At the Vizrt Group we do not share future looking product road-maps. That said, it should be clear that 3D technology is incredibly important and relevant to us and our customer base.
    Now royporter86 could have kept silent, but didn't. Maybe there is actually a little army of devs on LW...Vizrt devs. Glass looking half full.

    Deuce's LW role via LinkedIn is "Beta / Customer Service Lead", and his experience is in Graphics Arts / 3D DCC, with no software development experience or skills mentioned. Are you saying he's also developing and releasing bug fixes?

    Answering/responding for bug tickets could literally just mean adding "we'll pass along to development" responses (where ticket then sits in a development queue lacking anyone to address), while the CS folks actually answer/respond to tickets about licensing/installation/etc. matters they were already addressing.

    Just seems like another "carefully worded" answer, similar to VizRT answer about "not delisting LW2020". Time will tell.
