I suppose there will be no more Lightwave updates then not to mention LW 2021..so I guess its ded..pity!

the doom feels exaggerated, there are still 8 engineers working on LightWave.
As great as the name Lightwave is, being a user involves a lot of being left in the DARK....
I wonder what the state of beta testers are if the render dev chap has left newtek at the end of august 2020.
No point beta testing the renderer if there's no developer to fix/expand it....
Lino offering to train people in blender/octane. does he know more than us?

I doubt very much that Lino knows more than any others what is happening with LW.
He sees a business opportunity and why not.

As far as Newtek / Lightwave goes... haven't we been down this road already? I mean, didn't we go through three years of mostly silence after 2015 and then they dropped 2018?
Given the current economy, I'm not sure it's particularly surprising that they would be forced to make some very hard choices... literally thousands of companies, big and small, have been forced to make the same choices.
Any of it may be true, or none of it is true... but maybe a wee bit too much doom at this point.
