    Enable transparency for M/E buses

Very often 4x DSK is not enough to show all necessary CGs from buffers and GFXs, 4 is maximum currently.
I would be great to enable transparency for M/E buses.
It will allow to combine up to 8 sources in one ME and then assign this ME as DSK source to show 8 layers using only one DSK.
Currently ME getting with black background once I turn on any KEY layer or switch ME from MIX mode or mixing A B layers in ME.
Please enable transparency for M/E buses, it will help a lot for many Newtek customers.

Tried - it does not helps, as another M/E also getting with black background once I started to mix it with second transparent source.

you can use the liveset '4 layer set' to create an M/E with 8 layers, all of them hold transparency.
you may need to re-enter an M/E as Layer D to do a dissolve from sources, and they you effectively are using 11 keyers ontop of a P/P ME.

Is it working that on your TriCaster?
In my system (TC1 with PremiumAccess) M/E getting non-transparent as soon as I switch it to '4 layer set'.
M/E also getting non-transparent in default mix mode when I do 1% transition progress.
In mix mode the M/E also getting non-transparent when I turn on any of 4 keyers with transparent source.

I see what you are trying to do. you want to add just an ME onto DSK to show all the GFX sources. thats not how this will work. the last layer on the M/E is going to need to be full video.
you are going to have to use an ME on the program row or use re-entry to get a P/P to take/fade in your last layer.

    for example:
    M/E2 on Program.
    M/E2: 4 Layer Set. A:Buff1 B:Buff2 C:Buff3 D:ME1 KEY1:Buff4 KEY2:Buff5 KEY3:Buff6 KEY4:Buff7
    M/E1: MixMode

now you will switch video sources using M/E1 but M/E2 will stay on program giving you all your graphic sources.

Of course you can blow a layer on a keyable background color and key the entire M/E; not an ideal solution, but often good enough.

Thanks for advises guys, idea from JonRaidel is really wonderful.
Chromakeying is also can be applicable somewhere.
In my current case I want to use it in TC410Plus that have only two layers per M/E + two KEY. 4x sources in total per M/E, not so much.
I’ve planned to combine with one M/E 2x GFX1+GFX2+Buffer1+Buffer2 and to assign it to DSK1. Rest 3x M/E I need for a VirtualStudio.
Basically I’ve placed this thread as a feature request to implement “M/E With transparency feature” in future SW releases as I don’t see any physical and logical limitations to implement it.
It would be great to pass this request to R&D guys for review.
I’m sure, this feature could be useful for many TriCaster customers.

I second the feature request, it seems like supporting alpha all the way through the M/E would be really useful. Yeah, you can work around it but why should you have to.

does the TC410 not have the 4layer effect in its livesets as an option?

The TC410 and TC410 Plus have 2 Layer and 2 Keyers per M/E. The TC1 is the model where you get 4 Layers and 4 Keyers per M/E.
