    weird .mov program files

we have a bunch of recorded program files from 2016 that will not import into Premiere (or anything else including Media Encoder). they import as audio-only. VLC won't play them with the error message ' VLC could not decode the format "m2v1" '. media info says Format MPEG-4 / format profile QuickTime / Video Format MPEG Video.
of course we have the coded installed. we've been using this tricaster since 2014, always updating the software and Premiere can deal with all program files from 2014-2020 except these files from 2016. any ideas?

The m2v1 are typically standard definition recordings. They are MPEG-2 based, but some application will not determine the codec for some reason.

Handbrake should be able to read these file and converter them into MPEG-4 files, or the TriCaster export tool (if your TriCaster model has that feature) will also let you convert them into a different codec.

thanks - random tries with various apps led me to find that handbrake does work. but just FYI the files are indeed 190x1080 not SD. I dunno, something weird happened in 2016.
