    Accutrans 2020 released

Accutrans 2020 just got released, and it supports the new updated LWO format now!

Accutrans has always been my "to-go" app to convert LightWave objects to other apps, and to convert other object formats back and forth.

Really happy about this, since I needed to convert a number of newer LWO objects, and the older 2018 version would not load them. And today, when I really needed it, I had a quick look on his website, and the developer released a new version this month!

The trial is a never-ending one. Please support this guy.

This is a great piece of software especially when dealing with various file formats. There are many useful features even beyond converting file formats. I've used it for years and highly recommend it!

Actually a good reminder and promo for those who weren’t aware of this before.

It’s also refreshing to see that their website still looks like it’s refusing to budge from 1998.

    I don't get their pricing/licensing ?

What is the price for perpetual license of AcuTrans ?
I see 20 CAD and 100CAD for yearly rent and 2000 CAD (that's about 1450 USD??) says perpetual on their WEB ??

you really pay 1450 USD for conversion software ? That's more than whole LW price... Hmmm...

the way I understand it: the higher price (DLL versions) is for developers who wish to to use it as part of their software - thus DLL-versions... So, you as a user will have to pay $ 20 and be good...

For 20$ it's a steal but 20$ is perpetual version or what ??

They say 100$ for subscription/yearly version so it has no sense that perpetual is 5x cheaper than rental/year ?

Isn't $100 for the DLL rental as opposed to the $20 ordinary user license? And only available to those who purchased an annual license before July 2014

    Read carefully this page: http://www.micromouse.ca/pricing.html#OnlineStore

An Accutrans license is a perpetual LIFETIME license for consumers, which costs CAD $20 (which equals ~$14.50 US or 13.23 euro).

"Free upgrades since 1993 for registered (license fee paid) users of an earlier version."

The DLL version is meant for developers. Those who purchased an annual license before 2014 pay CAD $100 per year.
New developers who wish to integrate the Accutrans DLL in their software pay a one-time fee of CAD $2000.

Rayek has the pricing for AccuTrans 3D correct in post #10.

There are two versions of the software. One is for the consumer and the other which has DLL in its name is for software developers.

For a consumer, you pay a one time fee of CAD 20 which gives you a perpetual license for AccuTrans 3D. That license also permits you to use the DLL version of the software on the same computer if you are a programmer and want to use the DLL with your own personal projects.

Free upgrades to newer versions have been available since 1993 when AccuTrans 3D was released for the Amiga computer.

The software does NOT phone home to check if you have a valid license. There is a link on the Help menu in the software which takes you to the website to a page with instructions to unblock the AccuTrans Help Manual file so it will work properly.

The software does NOT have a security system. This means if you do NOT pay the license fee, the software will still keep working.

The software does NOT write to the Windows Registry and thus can be installed on a portable storage device such as a thumbdrive.

I use it mostly for converting Collada files to LWO myself. I also use it for scaling files more accurately then Lightwave is able to do natively.

If you think that's vintage, you should order and see the invoice. I paid by paypal today and then received an email with a handwritten and scanned invoice/receipt.

That wonderful bit of humanity made my day.

    Thanks Wayne!
