Ya $695 is kinda crazy especially when $995 is the price of a full license. This is why I think they need to take a different approach to upgrade pricing in order to be more competitive.

AFAIK Matt is still there and he's listed as an "Engineering Contributor" in the about of LW2020. Although in 2019 he was listed in "Engineering", but I think that was because he implemented the right click small increments in the rotate, scale and size tools. Which are really nice BTW.

Except that Character Studio didn't come with 3DS Max until version 4 in 2000. So 20 years!

when i bought 3ds max 2.5 in 1999 (free upgrade to 3.0 also) they bundled character studio in at no extra cost..i just paid rrp for 3ds max.

still the ik/fk thing isn't a "lightwave only secret" it's been in 3ds max for decades as an example.

Can someone explain me why they calculate VAT on the upgrade price? I buy this with a company in Belgium from the States... Shouldn't be any VAT...

For 2020 update itself.... Seems a very poor update. Not sure I'll upgrade tbh. Been a LW user since Amiga days.

I'm putting LW2020 and the updated Messiah plugin through it's paces and I am loving it. Fast and the new GI enhancements, render speeds, VDB tools, and the stability are welcomed updates. Thank you, dev team! Can't wait for the future updates, gonna be great.
