    Even with hardware raytracing coming along, I think it's going to be a long time before we see a real, general purpose renderer in hardware. Right now, RT in hardware is a mix of rasterizing and some reflections in shaders.

    Also, GPU rendering and a game engine, are stilll two really different things. Not saying it's bad, just not the most ideal for a renderer. That doesn't keep people from using it of course.

    Actually, "long time" is the wrong choice of words. We'll probably see it in blender in a couple of weeks.

    I'd like to see what the OP asked, I was hoping for a magic way to do it, magic being legacy stuff.
