    West Notts Tutorials

Props to Anthony Hall @ West Notts College. He has been cranking out some really great basic tutorials for LightWave. It is refreshing to see someone taking the time to put current content out there that's really helpful, especially for beginners. I thought this one on UV unwrapping was one of the best I've seen in a long long time, and I like he didn't use the screen shot method.

I would like to second this, as a brand new user to LightWave 3D I was looking for videos to help me get started modelling, and the fish video was a great intro to the tools and how to get up and running. The UV video I had not seen but is now on the list. really great to see.

Other then the texturing, modeler hasn't really changed for a very long time. The videos for older ver will be good for the current ver

Cool thanks, any videos you would recommend? I’m looking at game engine stuff really, low poly stuff. But any videos that are good will be helpful. I’m slowly making my way through the other thread recommended vids.

Many thanks. Also worth mentioning is that in the last three days the Learn Lightwave channel have stepped up and posted parts 6 to 10 of the LScript tutorial series.

I also notice Carlos Caldeira has been putting out a lot on Octane and LightWave. I have Octane but have to block off some time to really get into it further. I super appreciate people taking the time to share what they know, especially given all the intricacies and gotchas on some of this stuff. There are some incredible older videos, but a few of them are out of date, so it takes a little bit more to get through them. This is why I especially like the current ones coming out. No more, "Where the hell is that button?"

Thanks for your kind words GDKeast. Are you on Facebook? I have a Lightwave group called Lightwave Salvation. I always post your tutorials on there for people to see. Keep up the good tutorial you are creating.

Not on FB yet. But I will check it out. Yes, your tutorials are really great and much appreciated. It is unfortunate that LW doesn't have the user base that others have, but with that said, we're totally committed to LW and trying to encourage people to learn it. A lot of what you learn in one transfers over to other systems, so there's no harm in learning LW. As I'm writing this right now, we're working on doing one for Turbulence FD in LW.

We are trying to get West Notts (Anthony Hall) over 1,000 subscribers on You Tube, and they're on the home stretch.

If you aren't subscribed to the channel, would you please consider subscribing?

It's just a small way of thanking him for doing such a great job with all the tutorials. There are several YT channels that are doing consistently good work now and it's awesome to see! I know one of the hardest (and most frustrating) things for me starting out was finding current tutorials.
