The max community has so much great nature stuff with trees and other models that I envy, of Good quality also.
Unfortunately useless for me without having max to at least convert it.

The Utiopia kit I just downloaded in blender format, opened it in blender 2.81, loaded very fast..but surfacing has gone wonky so it┤s all pink in some areas, will have to check that, and in blender 2.79 it doesn┤t import at all with the mesh.

will have to check and download obj and fbx as well and check Lightwave import.

yes, when it comes to ArchViz, it is a bit of a closed community.

for this, you can download a Max trial, then export.
    bit time consuming tho '

    and beware, 2.5 Gigabyte

Rather not spend that time for that, so that┤s a no no.

Bummer, for the utopia...should have gotten the fbx obj format ..now I can┤t use that coupon and download that version.

I managed to hack my way pass the already used coupon, so I could download the fbx version and obj as well.

fbx in blender 2.79...not good, extremely slow and crashed, fbx in blender 2.81..very slow to load compared to the blender file, but works.
Have not checked how Lightwave handles the fbx.

The fbx however came in with surfacing more correct than the fast blender file, not sure if all textures is connected properly though.

Checking the Lightwave fbx version, loads slow there as well, and you have to reassing the surfaces, despite of setting that content as the content path and also setting image folder individually, it request for every image to be located, can you guys pass that?

As for rendering, boy how slow Lightwave┤s VPR is updating the scene with GI and low 3 cam samples ..compared to blenders GPU, it┤s so much faster in blender.

Downside with blender is that I do not like the camera, light handling, nor environmental setups either, for my taste I prefer lightwave┤s physical sky compared to the standard blender sky texture and it┤s horrible lights...so for that part I prefer how lightwave handles this.

That said, haven┤t looked in to the newer star sky or such for blender...and octane for blender I may also try and load it in to..cause it┤s sky however is nicer than lightwaves physical sky.

And just sad that you can not simply continue to vpr render if you increase samples, blender does that so nicely by just continue to render with newly increased samples without starting from scratch as lightwave does.

    hi, i'm back.

yes, it does take time to load, just like other big files. a SSD is probably of help.

didn't assign textures, so not sure bout that.

yeah, Blender is quite a bit faster when rendering. in LW it is what it is for the moment.
