    Help! Is my Lightwave broken?

I tried to load a new model with skeletons into Layout, something I've done several hundred times before, but when I turn off IK and try to convert skeletons I get an error message: "a skeleton with 1 vertices has been found."

If I twirl down the model in the scene editor, it shows a bunch of bones under the model that are all jammed together at 0,0. If I go to Properties and click one any one of their rest length, each bone can be extended and moved, but they are useless in their location.

    Suggestions?

Sounds more like that scene or object might have gotten goobered. Start isolating the problem & see if one of the sample content scenes with a character works. If so, you know it's not Layout.

You should be able to find the errant skelegon in modeler; On the polygon statistics panel, select skelegons, hide unselected, then look for 1 pt. polygons, and delete.

You'll have to either re-parent it in modeler, or do so in Layout.

Thanks! That did the trick. I'm back in business.
