    Hi, just to clarify:
What I am trying to do is to offer my version of messiah because I never really used it, and I guess I won't in the future. So this would be a paid version just moving to another owner who maybe has more use for it.
    Would this be illegal?
    Greetings, Shloime

Over the years, I've seen people sell them all the time, including here on the Lightwave Classified, so you should be fine.

Thanks for the pointer, the training is great in general, even if the target package is DOA much still translates elsewhere.

Ok, another question regarding the key file. It is basically a text file with xml-like tags. One says <lockID>: Is it possibly locked to my dongle ID of LW, or is it really just stuck to the drive it resides on?

@ calilifestyle: If it is not locked to my copy of LW, you could have mine.

Messiah is usually locked to a USB Drive. It is locked to the formatted Serial Number of that drive.

Here is how you can move a license to a new USB drive if your USB drive fails. But before the drive fails you will have to have a backup copy of your license file (that is the .txt file on the root of the USB Drive that is the messiah key) and the Serial number of the USB drive.

    1. Download the sysinternals tool VolumeID : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...loads/volumeid
    2. open an administrator command prompt
    3. go to the original messiah usb key drive and type dir and make a note of the USB serial number (looks like: 12AB:34CD)
    4. Put in your new USB drive. (format it if necessary)
    5. In the admin command prompt type: volumeid.exe U: 12AB:34CD (where U: is the new USB drive and 12AB:34CD is the original messiah usb volume ID)
    6. Copy the license key file to the root directoy of the new USB drive and you are done.
