No, the link brings you to a page about LW 2019.1.5.

NT is probably swamped right now with Tricaster and etc. with organizations like churches etc. trying to stay in touch and reach their audiences, so introducing another product right now might overwhelm their support/order staff.

That's an interesting thought. I don't know how well TriCaster would work though since most are doing things from home using more simple methods. Idk.

I would guess that the Vizrt/newtek core business is suffering a lot due to corona. Can’t be a whole lot of investment in live broadcast tech when all the events that you want to broadcast have been shut down. There may be some new investment in the form of live broadcasts replacing in-person events, but I would assume the net effect has been negative.

I imagine it has, but otoh it seems most of the regular broadcasts - both local and national - have just moved to the talent's home (which is where NewTek products truly shine). So there's probably some hedge against the dark forces there ...

just vaguely as they are preparing for 2020 release, otherwise itīs just the link picking up the date of the posted blog, which was in 2020.
But nothing really other than that they are preparing, and nothing about when it will be released.

So but doesnīt help at all they have at least 8 months before the 2020 year is over..just to mess with your hopes

it would certainly make sense to release it within 2-3 months.

anything after that is more like LightWave 2021.

Of course no help and no release date and as with 2017 which became 2018 no proof it will actually see the light of day to users.

Agreed, if its not out by the summer then really no point to releasing it at all and go for LW2021. If it has some real bug issues or such then better to leave it and sort out the problems and release early 2021.

Mind you that means no LW revenue coming in 2020 so maybe they will still want to push it out of the door this year and at least make some money during this crisis.

Well LW 2020 or not, they're missing an opportunity to pull in people with older versions to upgrade to LW2019 with a free upgrade to LW2020 when it's released by offering a special coronavirus price to entice them. How many lapsed LWers are twiddling their thumbs right now?

Most have moved on to greener pastures, so my guess is "not very many'.

Indeed, but Newtek don't need to release LW2020 to seize the day, they can try and reel in money with what they have. As you say even better with LW2020, but the opportunity is there for LW2019 also.
