Taking our first 100 mile+ trip tomorrow. There is a sensation of coasting or gliding when driving the car, but it's not a feeling like losing traction or something. It's certainly different than an internal combustion engine.

I drove too fast, missed a curve and now we're dead. Sorry.

Well, actually we didn't go today. Weather.

You can effectively 'store' electricity in a reservoir but there is a cost. There are probably better explanations of the process but this article by a company here in the UK covers it pretty well:

or this one which has a Green approach:

Interesting read. So it looks like "storing" is not really a thing but they can regulate output based on demand.

We had our first long ride yesterday, 90 miles or so, 160+ miles left in the battery. We drove to a beach north of us...and there were people driving around looking for parking! Everyone is off work so they're out looking to enjoy the day.

Congrats shrox, I’ve been driving electric since 2013 90% of the time. I only drive my old gas SUV occasionally if needed. The Bolt is a great car and has a nice range. Enjoy your EV and the joy of almost no maintenance.

Anyway, yes, we are very pleased with it. I'm mainly posting about it in case anyone is interested in EVs.

From the shapes and colors it apparently uses District 9 technology.
