Thread: The Corona Virus

  1. #91

if i was 60+ i wouldn't want the worlds economy to go down the drain just to save me, and others at my age.
    that's totally selfish.

however, the answer is not that simple.

1 - we are not at that point where the economy can't rise yet. (probably 8 months away, depending)
2 - not only elderly die from this, also younger people, with health issues.

Not only younger people with health issues but also just young people:

This virus can be deadly to anyone at any age. One problem at the moment is that too many young people think they are safe or even immune to it. This article covers the whole subject quite well:

Public prosecutor in Austria is just looking into a case from one of the Skiing resorts Apres Ski places how responsibles handled a possible positive infection case hapened there end of February. It took up to about 10+ days until this location/area finally got closed after. Especially nordic European contries reported already early March back they realized during their Corona researches indications many of the early infections in their country were fellow citizens returned back from their eastern/carneval ski hoildays from these parts of Europe.

Hey, that was filmed in Ferndale, California just a few miles from us. It's where the happy cows in the California cheese commercials live.

That's not really up for discussion. It's wrong, people are not expendable. I'm OK with going back 150 years anyway. They had electric cars then too.

Then you have never had really good cheese then...well, you do have some of the world's finest cheeses in Europe. So we're even on that one.

    sure it is!

    everything has a limit.

(i added that, imo, we are nowhere close to that limit, not sure why you chose to leave that part of my reply out)

edit; anyway, this is getting political.

A 16-years old teen died in France today from COVID-19 and she apparently had no other serious illness. Youngsters are definitely not immune. Less prone to be infected, but that's all.

And saying that people over 60 are expendable if the economy is damaged for you is not selfish?

Tell your family this. Tell them which family members are expendable to keep dollars in your pocket.
