    Hdmi to sdi converter

I'm trying to use my sony z7u as a camera source on my tricaster mini HD-sdi I can't get it to work though. The converter indicates that it is receiving a signal. I switched the input from auto detect to 1080p, 1080i, etc. But no luck. Am I doing something wrong?

What's the make and model of the converter?
We've used Black Magic converters with no issue.
    Tricaster 460 Advanced Edition 2, Tricaster 40 V1
    2 Sony PXW-X70 Cameras, 2 Panasonic AG-HMC40P Cameras
VSE 2.5 - VSE Advanced Edition, A bunch of Doo-Dads and cables

Tricaster are sometimes havd trouble with converters. I always had trouble with GoPro and Blackmagic HDMI-SDI. I switched to AJA and there were no problems. I also used an older Z1U and took the component out to a Blackmagic component to SDI and it worked really well. That being said, try changing the input of the Tricaster to 720p as well. Sometimes you have to switched back and forth until it grabs the signal.
