    Laser bolts

    Hi there,
I need to animate some laser bolts, but not really after the Phaser beam effect (as shown in the part tutorial below*). I also need the bolt to disappear upon 'collision' with the bolt's moving target object.

    Any suggestions?

I'm currently thinking pill-shaped objects with blurred edges, moving at speed (but I kind of want the bolts to look more interesting), and then setting the bolt opacity to 100 within Graph Editor.

There are a bunch of different ways to do it, but regardless of which method you use, you're probably going to need raycasting to pull it off. Look up the lightwave sample content on raycasting.

Too modest. Here is a link to the course which might do it:-

There was a sample scene in I think the 2018.x content using Raycast. Can't find it at the moment to confirm.
