Thread: Lightwave slogans for the next generation of Releases.

  1. #61

  2. #62

Don't say that this is the end
Instead of breaking up I wish that we were making up again
I beg of you don't say goodbye
Can't we give our love another try?
Come on, baby, let's start anew
'Cause breaking up is hard to do

Any slogan for LW would have to say what it is.... A complete start to finish 3d package that doesnt require any 3rd party plugins to complete a project.

on a serious note, it would also very much depend on the content of the 2020 upgrade...

Just off hand without looking, in modeler A2 Extrude (what spline extrude otta be)...in Layout I have DPKit and RH Rigging Toolbox (which is porlly the most useful to me).

Ive had a Vehicle rigging plugin, but havent installed it in along time, same with PK Import.

RF Import is another...but used rarely as yet.

How do you round a corner on a flat polyshape with just those tool in modeler?
or dividing a curve after it is created without restarting it?

Guess you rarely need to do that or do a workaround.
For me there are loads of tools for modeler that makes life easier.

Most often I model to subd, so i add edges, edit edges as I need.

Yeah, I agree there are alotta tools that make life easier..most often I simply forget to look for them, or they cost more than I have at the time.

ok...well, not acceptable for me subd a flat surface, impossible to get roundings as you would want, and control sharpness in some areas and rounding only in some areas.

    For rounding corner segments...
Senseiīs true fillet (free) s necessary I think, but it should be out of the box, which blender does out of the box with working bevel on edges or points without addons.
Unfortunately for Lightwave..which sort of had the mark of being the software that has the best out of the box set, I think blender has taken the title as the best Out of the box tool.

    for dividing curves, AW divide..(free)
    http://www.artssphere.com/plugins/divideedge.php

There is also another curve segmenter, not sure if it was dstorms, that I have installed, path divider and path editor, they are interactive so you can slide in amount of points to divide and already created curve, you may have to change display/interface and increase point size though to see the points properly.

constantly run back to JetFillet over here, but NT really needs to and that function.
