NDI Recording Playback Quality between VLC and Premiere

I noticed a difference in the video quality when watching the 7-1 NDI recordings in VLC. This is most evident with graphics in terms of the edges and letters.

The graphics sort of pulse during playback. I don't see this however when watching in Premiere. (2nd screen shot)

I have reset the VLC configuration and installed the latest NDI tools for windows from the NDI website. Recordings were made with the late December TC1 build. At times I use VLC as a quick playback source over NDI and wanted the best quality possible.

I've not done a side by side, Premiere NDI playback uses code written by NewTek. VLC Player is using non-NewTek written code for SpeedHQ. I'm guessing that is where the difference is.

Ah, interesting. The windows Quicktime Player seems to be able to play back the files, albeit a bit clunky in the same perceivable quality. The player just leaves something to be desired :-p

    Any other players you use?
