Another test, FiberFX gives more possibility, as texturing in the U or V axis of the blades... Thank you Denis for your help!

How about growing with white color, then fading to yellow, then fading to red, then fading to black. To simulate cooling effect from the hottest to the coldest.

Yeap, I thought about emitting particles from the tip as well... not sure if I can do that with the fiberFX u/v input.
I'll give It a try, I'm curently doing the tuto on the whole technique right now, will be online tomorrow I hope. I found a funny technique to randomly generate polychains all over a mesh in LW though...

Shifter node set with one point and "From Top".

    Tested with 3 polychains…

This is a great tip, thanks Denis and Marc! This along with the Strand Maker trick has made this super easy.

On the above setup, Denis, animating the Shift 0-1 is way too quick, slowing it down to something like 0-0.04 works much better. Is there a formula to work out what the value would be animating from 0-100%, rather than me eyeballing it?

Set an animated constant node from 0 to 1, divide it by the number of polychains?
