If it should take longer, I could still adopt my daughters' tactics,

I could throw myself on the floor and then I drum my fists on the floor.

And I'm only doing this for you.

    :-)

Most recent blog post used the words Lightwave 2020. So I think that a release in 2020 is to be expected.

Yes possible, since NewTek's clock seems to work at a different pace.

"Final preparations for release" usually means a couple of days, maybe a week or two max, but in NewTek's world it means couple of months.

Just pushing imagination, since the fantasy went to a signal coming from newtek, though agreed...any relation to what that logo stands for wouldnīt be representative, proper or nice in anyway.
I recall I did an experimental logo of my avatar, as beeing that of a red flag, white circle and a black lw logo revealing slowly in that circle, bad choice perhaps since some here had a sad history connection to all the atrocities made in those times, it wast the full representation of that nasty flag, but itīs similar color in itīs simplicity was enough to make a couple in here upset, which I apologized for

And I do not have any views of my own that would support that kind of idiotic perspectives that the regim itīs flag was representing.

I do have an interest in how symbols/symbolics effects us, so there was a little experiment.

FWIW, I understand the symbol was kinda adopted by our master chums, but is considered quite a normal symbol in some aspects of Hindu historical representation....

    Swastika yes, lw logo no

yes, common in hindu and I think buddism as well?
We actually had that swastica logo on a huge company here in sweden in their early ages, and I worked for that company my first working years, ASEA or ABB (Asea Brown Boweri)
Asea was founded 1883 and had itīs logo before the nazists used it, it was not rotated in the same angle though, but very similar..but had nothing to do with nazis, they removed their logo 1933 when the nazis took over power in Germany.

Image below is not a nazi symbol or representing any of itīs ideas, it was Aseaīs company logo before anything of that, check how they put a.s.e.a in between the symbol.
otherwise the text says, public swedish electrics/ västerås (the town)
Then fabrication date, then Carriage-& Machine Factory.

And by that..we/I have gotten a bit out of topic, will try to stear it back again.

Electric power and Automation, ABB Robots and Powercables,

3 months after I was Quitting the Gymnasium, I think I was 18 years old then, I started a one year apprentice program within the ABB concern, mixing practical theory of cable drawing, passive components and automation technics, with work on the floor every third week I think it was.
Could not see any swastika remaining though a lot of cables I did see, some robots..but mostly it was about Cables, I went on and off between different appartments, cable cutting for car start cables, making compound plastics for the cables, testing high voltage cables, huge cables that should go under the seas, mounting tyristors, and lastly emballage of huge cable drums and handling of international export first at the office, then on the workfloor due to some personel changes, but I couldnīt stand being out on the working floor ..so dirty with trucks running their diesel fumes, often I could sneeze out dark bogus each day, so I quit and went on to work on a photolab doing overhead copies, printing macintosh originals to dia etc.

I did stay 6 years on Asea though, the longest time at any company for me...should have put some effort and aimed to leave earlier though, think I left 1990.

I think you may be confusing beta builds of the Octane LW plugin as referring to beta builds of LW itself.

yep, that's LW Octane 2020.1.0.3, not LW 2020.1.0.3

i can see how it could be misinterpreted.

    but again, Octane, not LW.
