How about, as a swedish hobby user, I could talk to the Swedish Michael Hallén, and as a Norwegian hobby user, erikals could talk to the norwegian Daniel Nergard, we could all meet up along the border where the sun shines in this period of the year, if possible, celebrating the scandinavian take over

A good discussion over a nice dinner and what have you, and they can listen to customers without any language barrier, if we stick to the gameplan that is

Both Michael and Daniel comes from the same company, the Qmatic group,
Michael has been in these companies in varios roles, as CEO, Founder, and chairman only in some, they are also on linkedin if someone are interested to read up on them...
I do not know much about these companies at the first glance, Boss Media has some relations with manufacturing and marketing of systems for digitally distributed entertainment in the Game industry, online casino for instance I think (umm..Prometheus do not like that kind of concept, but perhaps irrellevant for this case) boss media is also mentioned briefly on the Lightwave 3d page.
According to Linkedin, Michael also holds a Degree in Engineering Physics from the estemed Chalmers Technical Highschool.

    Vizrt (Current)
    Paxport AB
    Wayamba AB
    Fingerprint Cards
    Qmatic Group
    Xtract OY
    Extenda AB
    Cambio Healthcare Systems AB
    XDIN AB
    Boss Media AB
    IFS Group

And Daniel has been in these companies...
    Atronic
    Appello
    Lawson Software
    Oracle
    VERITAS Software
    EHPT

    Education
School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg
    Bachelor's degree
    Economics
    And Karlstad university

But...if not talking to the Prom and the Erikals, they could just as well talk to the Lightwave team, as long as they have a good agenda of sustaining Lightwave, and making it better and get along with that team in that effort, all things may be fine in the end.

Announcements apart from only on the Lightwave 3D page, could effectively be forwarded in this section ..I think, it would reach people faster and make it more visible than only on the Lightwave page, thus it could aid in avoiding speculations, if informed well enough.

Perhaps, LW as a side child, was never taken seriously by Newtek hence the absence of any breakthroughs and digging in place, since breakouts are risks that those who love their brainchild take.
20 years ago, lw already lagged behind in many ways from 3D max, softimage and maya. And we all waited and waited for when we begin to catch up. our desire to see it once was so strong that we interpreted any of the most insignificant changes in favor of the fact that this hour was about to come and the LW would finally receive the required development!
The first bad bell was Core. The second and third, for me personally, is the dismissal of first David Ikeda, and then Rob Powers. Then layoffs of others rained down, the number of third-party developers was reduced to a couple of people.
Of course, I think that the lw will still come out for a while, until we all grow old and die (hehe). But, perhaps, having considered all the pros and cons in terms of financial profitability, Newtek in the near future will solemnly announce the end of the LW3d project. Since in order to at least catch up with competitors, one must be burning with desire and take risks. but this has not been seen for a long time.

Nothing in hiring in terms of putting some real resources behind Lightwave? that doesn´t necessarely mean that they do not have filled the positions elsewhere.

As a courtesy, you could wait until 2020 is released and reviewed before posting damaging doom and gloom conjecture on the future of Lightwave.

Would it help if Lightwave 3D becomes open source?

Yeah, I also keep seeing bad TV ad for a financial company called Newtek.

If for no other reason, Vizrt should pour millions into LW just to stop Mr White saying "I told you so..."
