Only Newtek know when the release date for LW2020 will be but there is a brief note about it in the latest Blog entry:

    https://blog.lightwave3d.com/

To save you a few seconds it says:

'We are releasing this to existing customers as we put final preparations into the release of LightWave 2020.'

So it looks like LW2020 will be appearing soon(ish). So everyone needs to resume Patient Waiting Mode (TM)

I'm guessing it will likely be released any time between now and the end of February. They are probably trying to iron out any last minute bugs that are coming up.

Sounds about right. Hopefully, they will be including a few good tutorials covering the new features whatever they might happen to be.

They usually do. Even for 2019.1 they had a video on the new layer features in modeler and how to use them. I kinda miss the new feature compilation videos for new releases. They were always more for marketing though. I guess a decent webpage showing the features of the new release like they have been doing for LW 2018 and LW 2019 is probably all they need anyway.

I did not know that this year is the 30th Anniversary of LightWave3D, but it sounds good.

Nice history...I still love that 7.5 UI best of all UI themes ever released...had it been fully changable as in controlling color and shades without closing and rebooting, that would have been nice, prefered it as it was before they went button style in the main menu categories, where 7.5 had text only on background, then it became a more distinct button instead..I think if the color scheme instead would have changed for 7.5..that non button division of menus would have looked far better, and slicker.

Also prefered the highlight scheme of selected buttons before how it is today, itīs like it distinguished better what is active based on a similar scheme to a highlighted screen selection, rather than just making the selected button another color with white behind black text.

As for the category division text..agreed the old 7.5 was just black text as the buttons, but with a slight darker..blue tint instead of just grey, that text could be changed to white and it would look slicker than the button style we now got anyway..but without categories looking like buttons that canīt be clicked on anyway and since they arenīt clickable, they shouldnt be designed as that.

You know what, would be great if we could have UI changes enough in the next releases, to celebrate this anniversary..and allow us for adapting to some older style of the scheme I really miss that UI Scheme.
