10 Questions to an Alien visiting.

So apart from inviting an alien species to your home for coffe assuming they are ok with drinking only that and not your brain

What would you want to know about an Alien or Alien representives? about them, their world, their technology, beliefs, cultural stuff, their history or maybe what they have in store for us.
Would 10 questions be enough? hardly not I guess.

Just curious to see what you guys would be interested to know about an Alien civilization.

    i'll give it a go...
These might not be all that positive, but never the less, a question deserves answers.

    - about them
    > their biology and how it came about would be fun to know

    - their world
    > would be cool to see what nature was like on their planet / at / in their system

    - their technology
    > hard to say, but not impossible they invented some basic, but ingenious, design we haven't discovered.
we have cars/copters/boats/planes. perhaps they in addition have invented a *insertname*

    - beliefs
    - cultural stuff
    - their history
    > i find these somewhat go hand in hand. it would be fun to see an interactive IMAX presentation of sorts, covering their history.

    - maybe what they have in store for us
    > i'm afraid zero, since if they exist i believe they follow a boring "star trek" strategy. only observe, do not interfere.
of course, that was what star trek was meant to be, until someone found out that would be a utterly boring Television show.

so, not that amazing to read, but would certainly be amazing to observe.

that said, here i am again, once again bringing Ai to the table...
Ai is getting closer, much closer. in 30-40-50 years time, it will be able to simulate the possibilities for us.

it might even find Alien life.
for now, all we have is > Star Trek. (where the older storylines actually were way better than the newer ones)

and if an Alien landed here on earth, i would kick it in the *insertname*
cause how dare they observe the misery, and not help.

I do hope they havenīt been or canīt be listening to what you say, they may take offense if you want to kick butt just because of mankinds own misdoings, they are not responsable for it.
They could have been observing from distance, but simply havenīt had the means to get here until the day they do, so Observing and abililty to interact or help doesnīt necessarly go hand in hand.

I think itīs best to serve them with some drinks good food and some good rockīn roll ..and say, wait..we got more to show you and letīs hope they find it nice and amusing to the point that they do not feel the need of viping us out and in fact wanīt to hear more, but then again..if Elvis was over there, they have heard it all before.

With their technology they surely must be able to scan the food or drinks for dangerous compounds, the big question is wether or not they care to get drunk or if they are of the sober kind, and wether or not they can take the music or if their heads will explode from it?

There would definitely be differences between us individuals, as well as what scientist in common, government in generall...And military in General would ask as priority questions.
This questionare assumes they or we have made it possible to communicate, wether it be by ink logograms like in Arrival.. or pure mathematic schematics like in contact

I reckon some of the most common question wouldnīt be about what software they use or what tv show they watch..if we would look at it from the serious perspective.
    Maybe

    1. What are their intents of visiting earth?
    2. where did you come from? and if they were coming from extreme distance of over 100 lightyears away, maybe the following would be..
    3. How did they travel this distance?
    4. How is the structure of their civilization? society,?army?countries..other species?
    5. Their species evolution and history?
    6. have they encounted other species? outside of their own planet.

And four more to think about as important perhaps.

And your reply was a bit like mine, though I just wrote it before reading yours.
    And yes, maybe a..
    7. how does your world look like.

Imax presentation? I would guess they put on a helmet with spikey needles that enters our brain, then we are showered with all their history ( censured as they want it to bee seen of course)
and images of their world, their miss universe etc
Well..maybe it doesnīt have to be so drastic as inflicting harm on us, but it may fit halloween at this time.

And the question Elenor Arroway would ask in the movie Contact, how did they do it, how did they survive as civilization and how they reached the advanced state that they eventual did.

truth, i don't care too much about Aliens any more. i find the new Ai way far-far more interesting.

    and Ai would help us.

..and hopefully, crossing fingers and toes, continue to do so.

Aliens, if they exist, would just fart around earth in their invisible ships and... do nothing. nothing that affects us at least.

Imax presentation? I would guess they put on a helmet with spikey needles that enters our brain, then we are showered with all their history
we can project memories colorlessly into brains now, so, their technology, would possibly be the size of an atom.

And the question Elenor Arroway would ask in the movie Contact, how did they do it, how did they survive as civilization and how they reached the advanced state that they eventual did.
by math i estimate they would have a close history to ours. (if they are a planetary species that is)

but yes, the "do not self-destruct" button is the interesting one. and where to find it.

Well..that is easy to understand, especially since the chances of this Alien Encounter to happen in our lifetime is quite thin, the chance of it ever will take place in mankinds history is also quite thin I think, and I am not one of those believing we have them walking amongst us.

So..AI and itīs rapid development and the huge effects it will have on our society, is a bit more interesting and foreseeable, but if there was a chance that we would be able to get contact, that would excite me more really than AI.

Seems there is no or little interest from any government (at least not made public) to implement a plan of whom will communicate and what will be communicated.

if Aliens were suffering, maybe I would have broken a Universal Law, but i would have helped.

They could have been observing from distance, but simply havenīt had the means to get here.
Nah, Alpha Centauri is 4000 light years away, so it should be very possible for them to get here.
It won't be long until mankind sends spaceships in that direction, unmanned or not.

i would kick it in the *insertname*
i wouldn't actually do that. I Do have manners. (not very developed, but manners, never the less)

the big question is whether or not they care to get drunk or if they are of the sober kind, and whether or not they can take the music or if their heads will explode from it?
you know, it is very likely that many things ok to us would be dangerous for them. (and vice versa)
pressure / radiation / acids / gasses. nothing (almost) a space suit can't cure tho...

hope they find it nice and amusing to the point that they do not feel the need of viping us out
I find that close to Zero. There is a 0.000000000001 percent chance they would be hostile.
But hey, gotta make those Alien Invasion movies.

Not correct, itīs 4.37 Light years, and that is a difference of 3995,63 lightyears, a HUGE distance difference.

Seems You are assuming solely that the Aliens are coming from our closest stars (after the sun) who said they would come from that distance of 4,37 lightyears.?

Yeah, I figured you wouldnīt mean that kicking in the a..

I have no clue to how you calculated those numbers? but Yes, I personally am on the opposite side of what I think Stephen Hawkings thought, that it is most likely that they will be a little hostile..given the history of how our own civilization treated a lesser advanced civilization, and then refer to something that happened when we where very uncivilized, we still are, but I think many nations and the common perception has changed, though it may not look like it when you look at troubles and wars of today, though I am not sure why hawkins seemingly ..did not take in account the possibilities for the mankind to evolve in a more humane way in the years to come.

I just donīt believe a species can survive (to that civilization state) ..Unless they learn to live in harmony and in symbios with other beings...and that means respecting other species that isnīt a threat to their own ecosystem..sort of, then again..if we are considered a threat..who knows, they may just leave us alone and not interfering...maybe they have built enourmous system to cover whatever transmissions they are using, to avoid being recognized by others, until themself know what is out there and where.

The question of helping out and intervening is interesting, so to the point that star trek has it as an important theme, to answer it ...I think we would need a reference to what they should or need to help us out with, and the type of help would be different as well as the actual decision on ..If it would be wise to help out.

There are many ways we could help out humans in our neighbourhood, in our country, on our planet, do you do it fully? does our countries do it fully towards our planet, do I?
I dare to say the answer to that is...No.

Not sure, but I think I saw an interview with Steven Spielberg...about Close Encounters, and at the time he kind of had the image that they would be friendly, then sort of changed his perception on it all..they may not be friendly and I am not sure that had something to do with 9/11 attacks, and then he went on to make War Of the Worlds (the movie) the series has just begun over here but I missed the first episod.

Tiny microbes, yeah..the Advanced civilization will not take that in account when getting here, so we may be safe according to War of the Worlds, through billions of years of evolution, we have earned the right to live here.

Star Man and Kpax is two movies that has some interesting questions, both of them features Jeff Bridges, one as An Alien, and one as human.
