    Cool.

2 basic questions, no long answer needed >

    - how does prices compare to garagefarm?
    - can it be used for private use? (company name is required) (edit; see answer below)

LightForge = Cool name, I dig it !

    1. Very well
    2. Yes. It's "studio name" not company name.
So you can make up any studio name you want, the purpose of 'studio account' is to make it possible for you and 3 or 4 or 400 people to be able to use the same account but under your own user names which you can create later as part of the system once you sign up.
    3. we are looking at a possible "group render credit' buy in program for you kats which will greatly provide for spiffy discounts.

    Thanks, good info.

in regards to Advanced Placement (HurleyWorks) any chance of seeing it supported ?
hm, seems Advanced Placement 2018 /2019 isn't available from Hurely. Shame. Oh well.
that said, I think weight painting instancing should be ok in LW2019.

on another note, a good read >

Hmm, w.r.t. DB&W plugins for LW2019, I see exrTrader and nodeMeister, but don't see db&wTools, infiniMap or frameD mentioned. Are there reasons those aren't supported for LW2018 / LW2019, or is it just because they haven't been tested for (or requested for) Lightforge.cc yet?

If not yet requested, please consider this a request for adding support for DB&W db&wTools, infiniMap, and frameD plugins. If needed, I can explain why each is quite important -- I consider db&wTools and infiniMap basically "must-have" Layout plugins for most rendering (with frameD augmenting infiniMap when image sequence textures are involved).

If I had to choose just one to add, it'd be db&wTools. I can't even recall the last time I did a (non-trivial) render in LW without using db&wTools' nodes for material adjustment, texture projections, etc.

I can add them if supplied them. DW Tools I will have to check for 2019. I own licenses for exrTrader of course and an old infinimap. I will have to contact Mr. Wolf and see he would be so kind as to sort us out. Generally he's pretty good about that stuff.
One thing we can do that other farms can't or won't is we support image sequences. No problem. TFD support is also there but there is a bit of a trick to it but it does work and we can do simulations for people server side if requested.

A render credit is 1.50USD. While not a straight forward way of evaluating it. A ThreadRipper 1950x at 3.4GHZ, for 1 hour is 1 render credit.

It seems to support things like 3rd powers lattice. I am reading this to mean that deformations don’t need to be baked down into pointcaches like when using other farms. Is this correct?

You don't need to purchase a license to render with any of our products, just download the latest version and they will render.
To get the db&w Tools you'll need to become a patron: https://www.patreon.com/dbw

That's correct, but like the rule goes. ABE. (Always Bake Everything) to be sure.

it is mostly when a plugin is used that "things go off the animation-track", right ?

meaning > endomorphs / bone animations usually turn out ok ?

Typically yes. Many plug-ins in the animation realm like that are either not LWSN safe at all, or just don't work over LWSN unless baked (envelopes specifically). We include them on our farm configurations because that way they won't cause a frame failure if requested but not actually being used.

We've updated the service to include all of Mike's latest plugins for 2018+ with the exception of dbw tools.

That's great to hear, many thanks! Hopefully down the road, something can be worked out to support db&wTools as well!

just wondering, does it work with the DPont intel Denoiser ?

    i'm thinking, perhaps not?

an alternative i guess is then the DPont Denoiser.
