    Need help creating spray paint

Good evening everyone! I am working on a project and have completely hit a brick wall. The gist of the effect I am trying to accomplish to to have an animated human spray a substance quite similar to spray paint onto the inside of a cylinder. Could anyone assist me with how to go about creating the spray paint portion? If I need to do two passes and composite the two files in After Effects I can easily do so.

Thank you so much in advance!

    Todd

A spray setup, raycast node motion for Null(2)
    and RmanCollect Texture for box,
though roundish mode needs high layer opacity level.

    Denis,

I greatly appreciate the files you sent however it looks like you're on a newer version of Lightwave than I am. I'm on 11.6.3. Is it possible for you to drop your version down?

Thank you so much!! I'm looking forward to seeing how you did it.

This is definitely an interesting technique. It uses parts of Lightwave I have not used yet, but it looks like a good challenge. That and UP being available.

    Thanks!

In LW 11, the ray casting is not possible with native nodes,
at least it can be replaced by DP Kit 11 ray intersect node
and a few modifications, but slower in the preview,
    box_spray_11.ZIP

The goal of this motion node tree is to drive
the second Null on the surface set with MarkerPen texture,
you can try the opposite, draw a path on the surface
with another method and target the spray to it,
but anyway MarkerPen needs to have a reference
    that sticks to the surface.

    has tool Spray Bg Points,
    it works like this:

If you would spray points (and eventually one point polygons) and use them as a source for e.g. HyperVoxels, I think you could get effect that you need.
