1. ## Is there a native LW equivalent for.....

Is there a native LW equivalent for the db&w tools "Rotate" node? It's part of the Variables group in that toolset.

2. ...as usual in such situations...

..if there would be equivalent of [whatever]..
there would be no need or sense or economical sense, making 3rd party tool doing the same...

3. Well yah that makes sense, but the db&w website says this about the Variable collection of the tools "Variables - Variables (Angle, Colour, Distance, Percentage, Position, Rotation, Scalar, Scale)
a collection of nodes similar to the native constant nodes, but with the option to motion blur the evaluation of their envelopes or even drive the time of evaluation directly". So if I go to the Constant nodes in LW I don't see a rotation equivalent. I'm not interested in any motion blur.

4. Translation, Scale, Rotation are all vectors; The first two are <X,Y,Z>, and rotation is <H,P,B>. Unknown whether rotation is in degrees or radians, though...

If I search the node tree for Rotation nothing comes up. If I search for Rotate I get a Deform:Rotate.

6. Use a vector node under constant. Heading into the X channel, Pitch into the Y channel, and Bank into the Z channel.

7. If you want just a HPB constant vector,
note that in node editors angles are in radian (360° = 2PI rd)
you need 3 Angle constant nodes for each Axis,
then plug them in a Make Vector node.

Denis.

8. What are you trying to do? Is it acceptable to use a null and get the rotation from that using item info?
