Hum3D Car Render Challenge 2019 Now Open!

3D model site Hum3D offers possibly the largest online collection of cars, electronics, weapons and other 3d objects, with nearly 15,000 models and over 7000 car models. They also regularly host modeling and rendering challenges, including an annual Car Challenge.

They have just launched their fifth annual Car Render Challenge, which is open for entries from September 18 – December 4, 2018. Winners will be announced within approximately one week from the close of entries. Competition is for the best car render, and both the vehicle and the setting must be modeled and rendered. Single-color and photographic backgrounds are not eligible for the contest.

The competition is held in partnership with leading companies and 3D software manufacturers, and NewTek’s LightWave 3D® is among the group. Participation in the contest is open to all comers. Judging is by a large panel of industry professionals including 3D artists, journalists, developers and more.

NewTek is providing LightWave 3D 2019, Nevron Motion™ and Chronosculpt™ licenses among the top prizes.

I'd really like to see a good number of LightWave submissions for this. We have a great community of folks very good at hard surface modeling and surfacing, and I think 2019 offers some great options for a setting and effects; plus I'd like to see folks putting the PBR through it's paces.
