Network Rendering on a VirtualBox machine - is this possible?

    Hi,
My main LW installation runs on Mac. Is it possible to use a virtual Windows 7 machine (VirtualBox running on a powerful Linux PC) as a network rendering node?

    Regards,
    Adam

Should be possible if you are running screamernet executables, I do not know if NRC setup will work. I was running screamernet.exe under WINE for years and years and it worked just fine, was very fast too.

Thank you. I’ll do some tests and report my results. Meanwhile, one more question: in LW 2019 is the Screamernet deprecated and replaced with NRC or they both coexist and can be used?

As long as you have the network in virtualbox set up to allow external connections into the windows virtual instance on the ports that NRC is using, you'll be fine. You may need to NAT them through to the windows instance.
