    LiveText and Daktronics

I am trying to have a Daktronics key field populate with a graphic instead of text. %DaktronicsCGClockStatus% returns "S" for stopped and blank for running. I would rather have a graphic instead of a random S on my display. Is there any way to accomplish that?

It's been a few years, but from what I remember the Dak information that can go into LT is too limited to do that. What sport are you taking the clock stats from? When we did soccer it would pause the time and then show the running time from the Dak controller. We had to use the Dak All Sport CG, I think to get the informatlon into the LT computer. You might want to play around with the sports available and what works the best.

There isn't a super great way to re-interperet things coming from LiveText. You'd have to intercept that data through some other application and use that to feed a new key to LiveText. The only way I can think of to do something like that would be to create a custom font and assign something to the S letter. Depending on the graphic, that might work. It would have to be more of an icon or single-color image though.

I was just thinking about the font idea as well. I even found some open source font creation software, FontForge. However, you need to create vector shapes, you can't just load a bitmap and have it appear.

Which you could do via https://www.vectorizer.io/.

That might work, FontForge says it will import SVG files.

Too bad that Windows doesn't support KaraFonts! Anyone remember those?

Thanks for the ideas. I had looked at WingDings, but I really don't want a teardrop to represent clock stoppage - especially a red teardrop.
