One set of bones defore multiple objects?

I imagine this is a simple question, but the answer is not jumping out at me. i have several objects, which I want to keep as separate objects for render/compositing purposes, but I want them all to be deformed by the same set of bones.

I don't want to have duplicate bone rigs, just the one bone rig (which I set up as skelegons on one of the objects) deforms that object, and a couple others as well.

    Help?

    Thanks.

Turn on "USE BONES FROM". I disremember where it is. Anyway, just put the armature on a null, and all the objects can share it.

Select your object, then choose Bones from the bottom menu (Shift-B), then Properties (p). "Use Bones From" is a drop down menu at the top of that panel.

I typically have multi-layer models for characters (body, hair guides at a minimum), and use this a lot.

If you need several duplicates of the same model character doing the same motion., you could use instances. And there is a way to color each of them differently if desired.
