Workflow without the Hub advice & tips

It looks like Windows is going to push the 1903 update on me again after I had reversed back to 1807 from 1903 earlier this year. So if I can't get the Hub running properly I will likely just use Lightwave without the Hub for now and try and embrace as best I can rather than fight it. I have already started to make myself a custom menu to more easily access common commands I will be using lots like "load object layer", "replace with object file" & "replace with object layer".

I have never really used Lightwave much without the Hub before so was wondering if anyone had any tips, advice or suggestions on how to work efficiently without the Hub. Also are there any other plugins out there that might help?

I have not used the hub since version 6 and don't really miss it.

As for workflow, I reworked the TOP GROUP in layout so I have access in any tab to important commands. In modeler I placed the load and save functions I use most on the BOTTOM EDGE group.

There's also quite a few tools in ODTools 2019 (depending on what needs you have) to work around the inconsistencies of the hub. Getting objects quickly from layout <-> modeler with just a click/hotkey is no problem.

    *send selected to modeler
    *get from modeler
    and likewise:
    *send to layout
    *get from layout

The only functionality that I didn't replicate is the layout view in modeler that allows you to sync layouts camera view in modeler.

That sounds like a good idea. I will probably set up a mouse pop up with those commands as well.

I started using Lightwave at version 6.0 so I have never used a version of Lightwave without the Hub and have always relied on it until now.

Thanks for letting me know that. I'm going to see how the standard workflow goes and if I think it's lacking then I will upgrade to ODTools 2019.

Guess I should set those up as well.

Ya, using the hub has developed years of muscle memory. So having it broken, as long as you KNOW it's broken, is mostly just nuisance.
