    Where Is JoePoe?

Does anyone know where JoePoe is?
His private message box is full, so I can't send a message that says "Thanks for being so awesome". Anywayz, he was awesome.

Well, nothing to do with me at all, but the plot thickens all of a sudden:-

    1. Who is JoePoe ?
    2. Indeed, where is JoePoe ?
    3. And this is the really big one - why was JoePoe awesome ?

This must be solved, so good luck in the search for JoePoe (wherever he is) !

@erikals, thanks for the VM suggestion.

    @TheLexx - lol - that was brilliant

BUT, WHAT IF: ...you actually were his secret long lost twin alien baby sibling from a different mother?

Considering my last post was 5 years ago, I'm not sure if my own existence is actually real atm but the [LWers who made an impact] have often been in my thoughts. Nice to meet you, btw.

JoePoe (yeah, the manhole cover guy in the link above) was one of the heavyweight rock gods inside the LW speed modeling challenges. He was funnier, smarter & more badass at teaching LW compared to 24hrs of WV. WV was like the cute & cuddly shaggy dog inside The Magic Roundabout. JoePoe was more like a BonJovi dressed in a Yves Saint Laurent suit, who sparkled like a drop saw cutting through metal like butter. I don't know if that helps provide some insight, while still being generalised-enough so it doesn't publicly embarrass JoePoe too much. I met quite a few LW rock gods through that challenge. It was a great platform for learning in a way that felt a lot more immediate & collaborative, but beautiful to see how it also made the vocation of teaching get a chance to shine as well.

I don't think JoePoe is dead yet, but it was important to spit the "Thanks for being awesome" bit (again). It really sucks when you're too late with a fellow LWer - but that's just me.

only one post in 2018. so by the looks of it he either >
    - quit doing 3D
    - quit participating in this forum
    - jumped to another 3D package

a minus with a VM is that i don't think he'll see it until he logs in.

Beautiful spot - do you live in this region? I would visit because there's a lot of good funny-smart people there. I like cultures that believe there is no such thing as bad weather. They have better clothes & sensible housing design. You guyz would probably be mortified by some of the crap they're allowed to build in the cold climate regions here.

No, it is from Lofoten. Hopefully i'll go there one day.

I live in Oslo at the moment, way more urban.
its alright, could be better. But i like small buildings and streets.

Just came from up north, an Island named Vega. Really Nice.

It varies, here in Oslo/Frogner people are kind of boring (Sorry Oslo/Frogner people). But up north they are full of life. Sometimes a bit too much for some.

Personally i'm only midway on that. Guess i saw too much rain delivering the papers + the "rainy days" military.

But yeah, traveling is cool.    I wish i did more of it... but... time.

Interesting - if you'd not identified it, I'd have thought that picture might have been taken on the East coast of Newfoundland.

We usually spend a good chunk of our summers in Lapland just across the Swedish border from Helgeland. We often pop over to Norway see the coast and the glaciers and stuff. Those islands are really something to behold. Haven’t been to Vega but the islands just a bit north of it were amazing.

I remember making a Ports of Call presentation way back, covering Newfoundland.

I though, now that is a nice place, i should go there.

    Ever been there?

    Agree, Helgeland is Beautiful.

Close; I've been to to Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, but not quite made it all the way yet.

I like that area, would like to go to these coastlines one day, and add New York to that list.
