Thread: layout renders only selected object

    layout renders only selected object

    LW 2019.0.3 Mac OS10.13.6

I am stumped: I had rendered a scene as intended several times, but now all my new renders are background color-- unless I have an object selected, in which case that object renders but not the others. I have standard surfaces, no dissolve or transparency at frame of render. VPR camera view looks correct, but actual render is ... weird. I've gone through every camera, render, and surface option. I've even de-installed and re-installed LW.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

    1. render with central object selected 2. render with no object selected. 3. VPR camera view

Thank you, I have wasted hours on trying to solve this.

Yeah you might have your shortcuts messed up or your just pressing the wrong button.

OK Guys-- yes!! I was stupidly pressing F11 rather than F9. Seems to me that was the old shortcut, and I'm just getting up to speed with LW 2019. Didn't even know there was a selected object render option.

Maybe should start a new thread, but I am also wondering about the new surface editor: you used to have the option of editing surfaces by object or by scene. Now if I have clones or multiples with the same surface name I can't edit their surfaces individually-- at least as far as I can see. Is there something I'm missing?

Again, thank you all for the help.
