Opening 2015 objects in 2018 problems. Please help!

I am opening my 2015 objects in 2018. The objects open fine but the textures and shading is blown out as if specular was turned up to a 1000% I have tried to lower the specular value in the standard shader as well as the principled BFDF but it is still shiny. The procedural textures even look different. Is there a problem with opening older models in 2018 or above or is there an easy way to make my models look the same as the 2015 models.

Use the Convert to Principled command by right clicking on your surface name.

You wont get things looking the same because the rendering systems are quite different... though you can get quite close.

This'll guide you through some of the basics, including some examples of bringing in and altering pre 2018 stuff...

Thank you all! This really helps. Is there a good way to get rid of the fireflies in shiny or metallic materials.
