funky! :-) Whatched the stream after the event and have to say I am quite impressed with what you came up there. I have to admit I wasn´t expecting that much when it was voted for. Tons more possibilities than I thought!!! Way cool, Michael!

Thank you. I think I mentioned this on the stream, but this is something that's been buzzing around my head for ages, I just never dared to tackle it (mainly out of respect for audio processing).

Luckily that part is mainly done, now it's about turning it into a decent tool.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Wow, the Audio Frequency node is turning out to be quite a powerful and flexible plugin, congrats and thanks!!

LW customers really should become Patrons for DB&W, the return on investment thus far has been excellent!

Imagine if LW was developed using this methodology

    Subscription?

I use two pieces of the three-piece application with mocap module.

    Thanks.
You could argue it's gotten a bit out of hand - but I'd argue all of the functionality is actually useful.

    Cheers,

At most it's a maintenance subscription.

And to be fair, if we turned just the Audio Frequency node into a product, it would cost more than most patrons pay during a year.

    Cheers,
    Mike

No worries, it's a perfectly valid question.

And I actually think that maintenance(!) subs are perfectly fine if coupled with a permanent license.

Even rental is fine - but only as an additional option.

Having said that, what we (attempt to) do on Patreon is a bit more. You can follow the development closely on our Discord, we try to get feedback not only before, but also during development and show the current stage as well as discuss development on the live streams.

Many patrons don't interact with us at all - but for some others these are valuable insights. And fun.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Absolutely! I have no issues with maintenence subscriptions.

The problem however starts already with rental as option because for that, online activation is required in most cases. Software that use any online mechanism to start is not permanent / perpetual anymore for me.

Rental only is no option for me as hobbyist anyway.

There is only one exception (X-Particles) I keep up-to-date as software with periodic online check ('perpetual'), just because it's too good to miss out.

Good that LW (or any of its plugins) never changed its licensing or introduced online checking, because I would loose interest in any new version immediately.

Rental only sucks - but as an option it is great. Not only for larger studios that grow and shrink their artist base depending on projects, but also for individuals that might just need a package for a month or two (and get paid for it of course).
That's why I'd argue a rental option is almost a requirement nowadays for certain packages.

    Again... optional.

    Cheers,
    Mike
