I have it for 2015 and it works fine, but i tried putting the plugin into the plugin dir in 2018 and it crashes.
any issues with the old dbtools plugin running in 2018?

date on the plugin is 2013 whew awhile back.

its used on a gundam i have from xavier - he really made it compelex using some nodes i'd never seen before.
We still have a non-Patreon release that works with 2018 here: https://www.db-w.com/products/dbwtoo...e-plugins-free

However, since the node SDK changed for 2018 and higher, some nodes had to be dropped. Mainly the cache node and anything related to materials. This is also why older versions don't work with 2018+

    Cheers,
    Mike

Cache caches the evaluations of what's upstream. Basically, if an output is used multiple times in the same node graph, inserting a cache would only process the node the output is a part of once (any everything attached to that node further up).
You can "replace" it by direct connections from the single output to the inputs where they're used.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Last month our patrons receive the Multi-Variables Node as well as the Elbow node to help them organise their node graphs.
    https://wiki.db-w.com/tools/multi-variables

For this month, we've proposed three nodes: And Instance Filter node (to isolate instances), a Multi-Mixer node (similar to the morph mixer) as well as an Audio Frequency extraction node.

My digits are crossed for Instance Filter, but looks like it's going to come in last. Oh well.

Glad to continue support, IMO supporters are receiving serious RoI!

Worth asking, but I kind of had the impression they're keeping DB&WTools focused on Layout (where ReSize was a Modeler plugin).

You wanted for Modeler, correct? By the time you took away everything ReSize did that Layout's SDK doesn't currently expose/support, there'd be little merit left.

Maybe we should add more options that nobody wants at all.

Here is fine. A comment on Patreon or our Discord is preferable though.

John is right in that our focus tends to be Layout. I'm also a bit hesitant when it comes to copying another LW plugin. Not necessarily because it's the copy of an idea, but because somebody has already done the work and "only" needs to update it. Which is a lot easier than re-inventing the wheel.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Just as a heads up, all future builds of the db&w Tools will include a version compatible with LightWave 3D 2020 as well:

The current Plugin of the Month, the Audio Frequency node, is well underway and we expect to deliver a first beta to patrons next week, after all of this LW 2020 kerfuffle is over.

    Cheers,
    Mike

We've released the LightWave 3D 2020 compatible version of the db&w Tools to patrons yesterday.

We'll also be streaming the current state of the new Audio Frequency Node soon:
