    Hah, it was your money.

Seriously though, thanks for the support and make sure to spread the word.

    Cheers,

I agree. And he certainly shows that, sometimes, 1+1 is not 2 but 20.

Yesterday we released the first stage of spline animation for the spline toolkit in the db&w Tools to patrons.

    https://wiki.db-w.com/tools/s-tk/layout-tool-animation

This is just the first stage, we'll be adding shape animation to the spline tools this month, allowing for the whole shape of the spline to be controlled by a single key frame.

Hey Mike, the Lightforge.cc discussion raised an interesting question about db&wTools plugin:

Will there always be an (unlicensed) download of the latest released* version of db&wTools plugin (as sent to patrons) available for render farms' use?

Otherwise it seems like ability to rely on recently-released features, even when the render farm ostensibly does support db&wTools plugin, gets sketchy, because few farms will go through requesting manually each month the "rendering only" version to ensure they have the latest features. Likewise, I can't really imagine most farms will spend money to be patrons, as they usually don't have to pay to obtain render-only versions of other plugins.

I'd just like to understand what level of render-only plugin support will be generally available for download (as opposed to what us patrons can access)?

    Any clarification appreciated, thanks!

*: Referring to the prior month's "released" db&wTools plugin's feature set, not including any "current month in development" features.

No, not for the tools. After all, they're not really licensed anyhow.
Given that all other products are free for them to use, I don't think it's too much to ask for a few bucks from a commercial entity.

    Mike

Today we would like to thank all of our patrons for supporting us. You have been crucial in getting the db&w Tools to where they are today. Thank you very, very much for that.

We're also celebrating our first year on Patreon this month.

To mark the occasion, our live development stream this Friday, which is usually for patrons only, will be open to anybody.

Not only that, but we will be raffling a free db&w plugin license to all attendees as well as one to all patrons. There will also be a little surprise for patrons.

Stay tuned in the next days for more details as well as a link to the live stream.

And if you haven't done so yet, become a patron at https://www.patreon.com/dbw to get your own, personalised version of the db&w Tools as well as follow, influence and support future development.

    #ThankYouPatrons

    Cheers,
    Mike

Our patrons just received the final build of the db&w Tools developed for November 2019.

Not only do they include the requested DoF Helper (https://wiki.db-w.com/tools/dofhelper), but also Weave (https://wiki.db-w.com/tools/weave), our #thankyoupatrons based on an OSL shader written by Zap Andersson for Autodesk.

    Cheers,
    Mike
