Thread: LWO Importer on the Unity Asset Store

  1. #31
LWO Importer 1.50 is now live on the Unity Asset Store: https://assetstore.unity.com/package...mporter-128787
It should fix the issues raised above.

It also supports NGons with a single hole (just like in Lightwave), Instanced images, and has better error reporting.

LWO Importer 1.61 has just gone live: Link here.

It has some much requested features, that I imagine some of you are going to find very useful:
    - Automatic material remapping option, so if a material of the same name already exists in the project then it uses that.
    - Proper support for conversion into HDR Pipeline materials (no more purple materials in HDRP!)
    - NGons with *multiple* holes can now be successfully triangulated.
    - Plus a bunch of fixes and stability improvements to more reliably import all your weird and wonderful lightwave objects!

Here's a screenshot of the Editor Inspector as it stands now:

Nice suggestions. I haven't used either of those in my projects so am not very familiar with them but I'll be doing some research. Thanks.

    Hi All
I've just submitted a new version of LWO Importer to Unity - it'll be up as version 1.62. Expect this to go live in the next day or so, based on past submissions.
    Here's the link: https://assetstore.unity.com/package...mporter-128787

And I just wanted to give you all a heads-up that if you are updating to this new version from an older one I'd recommend deleting the old LWO Importer folder before importing the new package from the Asset Store. I've had to do a bit of re-organisation in order to prepare this to work in combination with the soon-to-be-released LWS Importer and Lightwave Importer (which is the complete solution, consisting of both LWO + LWS support).

As ever, let me know if you have an issues, and expect another announcement soon regarding the complete Lightwave Importer.
