TC MINI Advanced ED. Audio Sync Issues

    Hello,

I run a TriCaster Mini SDI with Advanced Edition software. I have four SDI cameras and three Panasonic PTZ cameras connected via NDI using NewTek Autolink for Panasonic cameras, LiveText and NDI scan converter on a presentation PC. I have received feedback from cable TV viewers that sync between audio and video can drift. Audio will also drop out on occasion and video will sometimes freeze when I switch camera angles. I don't see this on the TriCaster program window or online. However, the output recording captured by our TV server (Tightrope Media Systems Flexlite 330) has these audio gaps and video freezes. My question: Would I benefit from running either all NDI sources or all SDI? Is it possible a mix of the two is the culprit? Or am I asking too much of this little Mini?
The Mini gets pretty blazing hot during live production. The system fan ramps up and down like a revving engine. Our board meetings can last several hours.

Thanks for any advice and feedback.

I use MINI's with a combination of SDI and NDI with no issues from the internal recorder and a live stream at the same time. I have also used NDI to send program out from one MINI to another to capture on both units at the same time. What I have NOT done on a MINI is record on external capture via SDI. I have sent SDI video to projection with zero issues though but the audio was not used.
I have done this many times so it was not a one off. More like six times and in many countries.
From my experience helping out my clients, when using NDI, the network switch is the culprit of most of their issues.

Question, you did not mention how you are sending video to Tightrope? I assume via SDI? Also is your TriCaster session 1080i and you are sending out of one of your two outputs the same 1080i?

    Jose,
Thanks for your reply. You mentioned the network and I have been suspecting that it might be causing or contributing to the issues I have seen. I work in a school district that has implemented 802.1X network security protocols on all of our switches. My PTZ IP cameras are connected to TriCaster through one of these enterprise switches. My next step will be to isolate my cameras and TriCaster to a separate switch.
To answer your questions: I am sending video to the Tightrope server via SDI and all my sessions are 1080i.
